General Safety
Š       Has supervisor ensured that all employees received documented safety toolbox training monthly?
Š       Has supervisor ensured that all employees attend trainings provided by Safety Coordinator?
Š       Has supervisor ensured that a representative of the department attend the safety committee monthly?
Š       Has supervisor ensured that new employees attend the New Employee Orientation provided once a month?
Š       Are exit ways (doors, aisles, halls) free of obstacles, trip hazards and combustible storage? 
Š       Are exits and non exits marked accordingly?
Š       Are workstations set up in ergonomically friendly manner?
Š       Is paper cutter blade in locked position when not in use?
Š       Is there adequate lighting in work areas?
Š       Are ladders and step stools in good condition?
Electrical Safety
Š       Do extension cords and multiple outlet strips meet the following requirements?
Š       Cord less than 9 ft. in length?
Š       Plug directly into a wall outlet?
Š       Cords not connected to each other, or to multiple outlet strips?
Š       Prevented from running through walls, ceilings, and doors?
Š       In good condition without damage, splices, or being sharply bent/pinched?
Š       Are cord guards provided when cords cross aisles or other passageways?
Š       Is clear access (36’ clearance) provided in front of electrical panels?
Š       Are electrical cover plates provided on all outlets?
Š       Are portable electrical heaters:  Only on the floor?  Plugged directly into wall?  Have a working tip-over switch?  Combustibles kept three feet from all sides and tops of heaters?
Bracing and Overhead Storage
Š       Are tall furnishings seismically braced? (e.g., file cabinets, bookcases, hutches, etc.)
Š       Are screens, blackboards, etc. fastened with a closed hook system or wall-bolted?
Š       Is overhead storage of heavy items secured and prevented from falling?
Š       Is weight evenly distributed in file cabinets to prevent top heavy condition?
